Buhari Returns from China, Hopeful of $6bn Investments

Buhari-returns-300x200President Muhammadu Buhari  returned to Abuja on Saturday  after his one-week working visit to the People’s Republic of China. The President was received on arrival at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja by some top government officials including his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari; and the Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase.

The week-long visit to China according to the Presidency has yielded additional investments of about $6 billion and strong synergy in technology, agriculture and trade.

The Presidency said that the President’s visit was aimed at securing greater support from Beijing for the development of Nigeria’s infrastructure. “ It is essentially an infrastructure visit”, Femi Adesina, Presidential spokesman had said. Areas of focus included defence, roads, rail and agriculture.
