Lalong Commiserates with Mwaghavul Monarch, Mourns Miskaham Mushere

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has commiserated with the paramount ruler of the Mwaghavul nation, Da Nelson Bakfur, over the demise of his wife, Mama Talatu Bakfur who passed away recently.

The governor, who was accompanied by some government officials to the family residence of the Mishkaham I Kerang District of Mangu LGA, said Mama Talatu died at a time her wise counsel was needed for the development of the Mwaghavul nation and Plateau State as a whole and urged the family to take solace in the legacies she left behind.

Responding on behalf of the royal father, Chairman, Council of Mwaghavul Elders, Brigadier General Linus Bulus (rtd), stated that all human beings were “pilgrims on earth” and thanked the governor for making time to commiserate with the family despite his tight schedules.

In a related development, Governor Lalong has also commiserated with the people of Mushere in Bokkos LGA over the death of His Royal Highness, Da Solomon Lekshak, who died recently.

Governor Lalong said, “We share in your pains and pray that Almighty God in His infinite mercies grant you, members of your family and the entire people of Mushere and the State the fortitude to bear this great loss.”

He encouraged the bereaved family, the government and people of Bokkos to take solace in the fact that the late monarch left a legacy of true leadership and was a father who touched the lives of people positively.
